Maltese Folklore Merchandise

This project includes illustrations featuring two mythological creatures from the Maltese folklore, including ‘Golfu’ and ‘Ors tal-Gandlora’. Golfu, or the screeching owl, is a large owl with the power to petrify its victims with its scream, metaphorically and literally. To get their children to go to bed, parents would tell them about Ors tal-Gandlora, a giant bear that is supposed to have a habit of regularly ascending a tunnel in pursuit of unexpected victims.

My main objective was to raise awareness of our cultural background and mythology, and make the Maltese population interested in learning more about those aspects by creating fashionable designs and merch that could be qualified to be found in a fashionable store.
